About

Visit the Garland Transfer Station, where you can dispose of non-hazardous solid waste in a car or pickup truck. Box trucks, trailers, flatbed trucks, and similar vehicles must haul trash to the C.M. Hinton Jr. Regional Landfill located at 3175 Elm Grove Road in Rowlett.

  • Brush/wood waste and clean brush accepted at the Wood Recycling Facility
  • Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) containing items
  • Closed drums, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) waste
  • Commercial loads of electronics, including televisions, office machines, and computer equipment
  • Concrete
  • Debris from non-hazardous chemical spills
  • Dirt
  • Friable asbestos
  • Fuel tanks, used oil filters or other devices that use to contain petroleum-based compounds such as gasoline, fuel oil, hydraulic fluid, lubricants or other chemicals
  • Hazardous waste
  • High-pH and low-pH materials
  • Infectious or hospital waste
  • Lead acid batteries
  • Liquid waste
  • Motor-driven vehicles
  • Pesticides or other home use chemicals
  • Recyclable commodities, including scrap metal, plastic bottles, glass bottles, newspaper, magazines, shredded paper in clear bags. Recycling and scrap metal accepted at the Garland Recycling Center, co-located at the Transfer Station at 1426 Commerce Street.
